Please rank your top 5 choices for the things you would like to see our class do (and things you would be willing to participate in) using 1 as the highest ranking and 5 as the lowest. We will plan projects for the ideas with the highest ranking by the most people. Feel free to make comments and suggestions at the bottom of the page.
- Youth Supper & Other Activity
Prepare a meal and other activity for the youth after one of their weekly UMYF meetings on Sunday evening. - Church repair/renovations
Assist the church by doing repairs and/or small renovations to a room or area needing repair. - Epworth Children's Home
Epworth Children's Home is supported by the Methodist Church and private donations. Children living there are as young as 4 years old and may stay there 4 years after high school graduation if they are attending college. There are 75-100 children who live there. We would contact the staff to determine their needs that meet the ability of our class. - Killingsworth
This is a women's shelter that holds up to 19 women, ages 18 and over. They are women who are trying to "get back on their feet". They come from drug treatment programs, mental health centers, and jails. We would make valentine baskets for their residents. - Visit Nursing Home
Choose a holiday or special occasion to take small gifts such as potted plants to people in the nursing home. We would love for this to be a kid friendly project because the older people enjoy so much seeing children. - CROP Walk
The Midlands CROP Walk Against Hungers will be Sunday Nov. 18th at 2:30PM. The walk is 5K (3.1 miles). Walk participants are encouraged to raise money through donations to fight hunger worldwide. 75% of funds go to Church World Service which supports national and international hunger and 25% stays in the local community which this year will include Harvest Hope Food Bank and Lexington Interfaith Community Services. - WIS Families Helping Families
- Adopt a large family in the program
- Harvest Hope
